USA MEDIA NEWS: Lady Gaga's boyfriend Taylor Kinney has revealed that he fell for the singer because she reminded him of his mother.
The 31-year-old 'Vampire Diaries' star opened up about the 'Poker Face' hitmaker and put the comparison between his lover and his mother down to their strong characteristics.
Lady Gaga is known for her political activism, not only using her songs as a platform to promote her ideologies but also leading marches for issues like gay rights.
"She works incredibly hard and is very strong and inspirational like mom, with a great work ethic," the Daily Mail quoted Kinney as telling the Sun.

According to him, Gaga's powerful stance on these issues is obviously part of the attraction.

USA MEDIA NEWS: Holly Madison is happily expecting her first child with beau Pasquale Rotella, and now it is revealed that she is expecting a baby girl.
Rotella was posting on Twitter when he let the news slip that they will be welcoming a daughter, states UsMagazine.com. “Off to Amsterdam and I already miss my girls,” Rotella commented on Twitter along with a picture of Madison and the sonogram of their baby.
Madison previously commented that the two had found out the news but were keeping it to themselves for now. It looks like Rotella just couldn’t hold the secret in any longer.

What do you think they should name their daughter?

African painted dogs kill young boy at Pittsburgh Zoo

USA MEDIA NEWS: A group of African painted dogs killed a boy who fell into their exhibit today at the Pittsburgh Zoo.
Barbara Baker, the zoo's president, said the child was around 3 years old.
He "fell off an observation deck that's about 14 feet above the exhibit," she said, "and was killed by the dogs."
"Our emergency teams and our Pittsburgh police responded immediately, but there wasn’t anything that could be done," added Baker.
The boy fell into the enclosure at 11:45 a.m., and visitors quickly alerted staff, the zoo said in a statement. A zookeeper moved seven of the 11 dogs out of the exhibit, and a Veterinarian Department member shot darts trying to scare away the remaining dogs.
"Unfortunately, the dogs were in pack mentality and not responding," the zoo said.
Zookeepers, meanwhile, entered the exhibit to try to lure the dogs away, but they could not reach the boy in time. The keepers and Pittsburgh police officers continued efforts, too, to lure away the dogs, and "one aggressive dog was shot and killed by an officer," according to the zoo.
The Pittsburgh Zoo and the associated PPG Aquarium are closed until further notice.
African painted dogs are among the most endangered dog species in the world, with less than 5,000 left in the wild, according to the zoo. The zoo has a breeding program.

Each is about the size of a small German shepherd, Baker said.

Acer warns Microsoft that hardware is like 'hard rice'

USA MEDIA NEWS:The Taiwanese PC maker compares computer manufacturing to food as it again criticizes Microsoft for making its Surface tablet, according to a report.

Acer is pretty peeved with Microsoft's hardware push, and it continues to let the software giant know it.
The latest comments from the Taiwanese computer maker continue to criticize Microsoft's recent push to compete with its hardware partners.
According to a rough translation from Google, Linxian Lang, Acer's manager of Greater China operations, compared making hardware to food. He called the area "hard rice" that's "not so easy to eat."
Of course, the translation is riddled with errors, but the general sentiment is clear -- Acer thinks Microsoft should stick to what it does best (software) and let Acer and the other hardware makers build the actual products that run Windows.
Microsoft earlier this year introduced a self-branded tablet, dubbed Surface, that runs on its Windows RT operating system, and it reportedly is considering making its own smartphones. Such products are a threat to companies like Acer, who are struggling to appeal to consumers in a world that's increasingly moving toward smartphones and tablets.
Acer, in particular, has suffered as its big bet on netbooks flounders and as consumers continue to hold off on PC purchases. The company has posted steep declines in recent quarters, with its global shipments falling 10 percent year-over-year in the third quarter, according to Gartner, and its shipments in just the U.S. tumbling a whopping 28 percent over the same period.
Acer late last month said it was delaying the release of a Windows RT tablet because it remains wary of competing with Microsoft's Surface.

Facebook is adding a new product within its gifting service -- charitable donations.

As part of the social network's Facebook Gifts service, users can now send donations in a friend's name to organizations like the Red Cross, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, or DonorsChoose.org.

The launch comes during the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the superstorm that's destroyed homes and left countless people without power.

"We are especially pleased to be launching this test now -- when so many people are looking for new ways to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy, or assist those most in need around the holidays," said Facebook's Jared Morgenstern.

iPad Mini sells out quickly at Apple's top NYC store

USA MEDIA NEWS: Despite indications of smaller than usual crowds around the globe, the iPad Mini is already sold out in one key New York store.

While Apple is expected to sell far less iPads this weekend than it did with its tablet launch earlier this year, one of the company's major stores is already sold out.

Apple's "cube" store on Fifth Avenue in New York City, sold out of both iPad Mini models in about two hours. The white model sold out first, analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets wrote in a note this morning, followed about an hour later by the black.

"We believe these early stock outs are driven by the combination of strong demand, combined with a shortage of supply due to the constraints we discussed during our recent Asia Technology Tour," White said, adding that the sellout is "driving customers to buy the fourth generation iPad," which also went on sale today.

New York is currently recovering from extensive damage from Hurricane Sandy, which has left major portions of the city with water damage and without electricity. Nonetheless, lines gathered outside the Fifth Avenue store ahead of the launch. The company's retail locations in SoHo and West 14th Street remain closed, while the other three stores in the region opened up two hours late.

White estimates that Apple will sell 800,000 to 1 million Minis during its launch weekend. The numbers are similar to ones put out by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster earlier today that pegged Mini sales at 1 million to 1.5 million units, a number that could grow larger including fourth-generation iPad sales.

As a frame of reference, Apple sold 3 million iPads during the launch weekend of the third-generation model earlier this year, a release that matched up with the annual cycle the company set up with previous models. Apple broke that with the surprise announcement of a fourth-generation model with newer internals and a Lightning port at its event in late October.

Apple is expected to announce initial sales numbers of the device, which launched in 34 countries today, early next week.

Sarah Harding's skin cancer scare

USA MEDIA NEWS: The Girls Aloud star has reportedly undergone tests after having three potentially cancerous moles removed last Wednesday (17.10.12) - just two days before the group announced their greatest hits album 'Ten' and comeback tour - at a London Hospital and is now anxiously awaiting the results this week.
Although the blonde beauty is "stressing" over the situation she has been reassured that things are looking very hopeful and that doctors believed they have removed the blemishes in time and do not think she will need any further treatment.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "This is an incredibly stressful time for her. It's early days and the doctors are very positive - but the word 'cancer' is terrifying to hear and Sarah is naturally stressing about it."
Luckily for the 30-year-old pop star she has been able to rely on the support of her Girls Aloud bandmates - Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts.
The four girls have told Sarah not to worry too much about the tests and instead try and focus on their tour.
The source added: "The girls are completely behind her. Some of the fans have suggested she hasn't been enthusiastic about the tour, but the girls have told her not to stress because she'll only run herself down and make herself sick."
In October 2011, Sarah checked into rehab to be treated for alcoholism and a dependence on sleeping pills.
